OBITUARY - Comrade BRIAN HACKBART
Passed away suddenly surrounded by his loving family and precious grandchildren on Wednesday, June 12th, 2019 at University Hospital in London at the age of 65.
Beloved husband of 41 years to Trisha.
Loving Dad to Christie (Mike) Purdy and Dan (Mary Rose) Hackbart.
Special Papa to Joshua and Megan Purdy.
Dear brother of Gary (Florence) of Waterloo, Bruce (Maria) of Breslau, Gerald (Carolyn) of Kitchener, Neil (Janice) of Mount Forest, Kathryn Troubridge (Bill) of Elora and Carolyn Benyair of Port Elgin.
Predeceased by his parents Fred and Rose and brothers Raymond, Lloyd and Glen (Lisa).
Brian was a patient, active and hardworking man. He enjoyed travelling, time spent at the trailer, golfing, and gardening. But most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family.Especially his grandchildren, the love of his life.
Comrade Brian was a 19-year Member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Waterloo Branch 530.
Brian's family will receive relatives and friends at the Henry Walser Funeral Home (507 Frederick St., Kitchener, 519-749-8467) from 2 - 4 p.m. & 7-9 p.m on Sunday, June 16, 2019 and from 9-9:45 a.m. on Monday, June 17, 2019. A Funeral service will take place in the chapel on Monday, June 17, 2019 at 10 a.m. Reception to follow. Interment at Parkview Cemetery.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).
