 FEBRUARY 9TH

FANTASTIC, FABULOUS, GREAT, WONDERFUL, INCREDIBLE, OUTSTANDING, TERRIFIC, AWESOME.
THESE ARE JUST A FEW OF THE ADJECTIVES USED TO DESCRIBE NEXT SATURDAY'S BAND,

 CLUB DJANGO

LENNY SOLOMON – VIOLIN

“CANADA’S PREMIER JAZZ VIOLINIST”, AND JUNO AWARD WINNER, LENNY HAS PERFORMED THROUGHOUT NORTH AMERICA, EUROPE AND ASIA. HE HAS APPEARED ON 100’S OF RECORDINGS, HE HAS PERFORMED EVERY STYLE OF MUSIC INCLUDING JAZZ. CLASSICAL, ROCK, BLUEGRASS, GYPSY AND MORE. LENNY  WAS A THREE TIME WINNER  OF “THE JAZZ REPORT’S” VIOLINIST OF THE YEAR.

JOHN FARRELL – LEAD GUITAR

JOHN INTERPRETS THE FORMIDABLE GENIUS OF DJANGO REINHARDT LIKE NO ONE ELSE. AN ACCOMPLISHED GUITARIST, JOHN HAS PERFORMED PROFESSIONALLY FOR OVER 30 YEARS TO THE DELIGHT OF FANS ALL OVER THE WORLD.

GERRY DULIGAL – ACCORDION

UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF HIS FATHER, GERRY PLAYS EVERYTHING FRON BACH TO BACHARACH. HIS EUROPEAN MUSIC INFLUENCE FITS RIGHT IN WITH ‘CLUB DJANGO’.

WAYNE NAKAMURA – RHYTHM GUITAR

WAYNE HAS BEEN CO-LEADER OF TORONTO’S LONGEST RUNNING GYPSY JAZZ JAM FOR OVER 10 YEARS. HIS TIGHT RHYTHM PLAYING ADDS A LARGE ELEMENT OF “SWING” TO THE BAND.

ABBEY SHOLZBERG – DOUBLE BASS

ABBEY STUDIED JAZZ AND CLASSICAL MUSIC AT MCGILL UNIVERSITY. FOR YEARS HE TRAVELLED WITH A VARIETY OF POP AND SHOW BANDS, PLUS HE WORKED ON CRUISE SHIPS AND TOURED THE BRITISH ISLES WITH A MUSICAL GROUP. ABBEY WAS A FOUNDING MEMBER OF “CLUB DJANGO” AND HAS BEEN NOMINATED FOR “THE NATIONAL JAZZ AWARD”. ( IN 1968 HE WON THE QUEBEC WRESTLING CHAMPIONSHIP IN HIS 92 LB. CATEGORY. HE ALSO ATTENDED “THE WOODSTOCK MUSIC FESTIVAL” IN 1969). WHAT A GUY!

NOTHING COULD BE BETTER THAN LISTENING TO THIS GREAT BAND OF TALENTED MUSICIANS, AS WE EAGERLY AWAIT AN EARLY SPRING.
THE GROUNDHOG SAID SO!!
